Philip Sayce plays guitar like it owes him something, and audiences from Montreux Jazz Festival to Eric Clapton‘s Crossroads have felt the debt paid in full. A protégé of the late Jeff Healey and a former sideman for Melissa Etheridge, the Toronto-raised guitarist has spent two decades sharpening a style that fuses Hendrix‘s fire, Stevie Ray Vaughan’s grit, and Clapton‘s phrasing into something entirely his own. Armed with his legendary Stratocaster “Mother,” Sayce doesn’t just play blues rock, he detonates it, blending searing fretwork with soul-deep vocals that have made him one of the most electrifying live acts working in the genre today. His 2024 record The Wolves Are Coming landed at #2 in Classic Rock’s Blues Album of the Year, and he’s since released Scorched Earth: Volume 2 Live in LA / London, a blistering live album, captured at LA’s legendary Baked Potato and a packed-out show in London, that catches Sayce at the absolute peak of his powers.

Expect him to unleash fresh material live long before most fans have heard it. On Monday, October 12th, Philip Sayce brings that raw intensity to Rockhal, a night for anyone who wants to feel a guitar solo in their chest, not just hear it.
